The City of Fresno is committed to making every public meeting accessible to all members of the community, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II, the Brown Act, and SB 707 (2024).
Disability accommodations
If you need a disability-related accommodation to participate in a public meeting — including assistive listening devices, sign language interpretation, real-time captioning, large-print materials, or wheelchair access — please contact the City Clerk's Office:
- Email: cityclerk@fresno.gov
- Phone: [ADA PHONE] (voice) · 711 (California Relay)
- In person / mail: 2600 Fresno Street, Fresno, CA 93721
Requests should be made at least 48 hours before the meeting so we can arrange the accommodation. Requests made on shorter notice will be honored to the extent possible.
Language access
Interpretation and translated materials are available on request, consistent with Gov. Code § 54954.2(a)(2) (SB 707). The following languages are routinely supported in Fresno, based on US Census language data for our jurisdiction:
- Spanish (Español)
- Hmong
- Punjabi (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ)
- Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt)
To request a live interpreter or translated written materials for a specific meeting, contact cityclerk@fresno.gov at least 72 hours before the meeting. Translated agendas for the languages above are also available directly on the meeting page using the language switcher in the top navigation.
Auxiliary aids
The Council Chamber is equipped with:
- Assistive listening devices (request from the Clerk's staff at the front of the chamber)
- Wheelchair-accessible entry, seating, and restrooms
- Live captions on the chamber display and the live video stream
Service animals
Service animals are welcome in the chamber per ADA Title II.
Filing a complaint
If you believe you have been denied an accommodation or denied meaningful access on the basis of disability or limited English proficiency, you may file a complaint with the City's ADA Coordinator at cityclerk@fresno.gov, or directly with the U.S. Department of Justice at ada.gov/file-a-complaint.
